Job Full Description

An Edmonton client is seeking an Shop Technician to join their team. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of hydraulic tensioning equipment, torque tools, and other critical machinery in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in preventative maintenance and equipment servicing, with a strong focus on safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Servicing and Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance checks and services on hydraulic tensioning equipment, torque tools, pneumatic and battery-powered torque guns, heat exchangers, wheel jacks, cylinders, gearboxes, and other tools to ensure optimal performance.

  • Certifying and Recertifying Assets: Perform certifications and recertifications of company and customer assets (e.g., torque guns, hydraulic tools) to comply with industry standards and safety regulations. Log certifications and recertifications to track equipment compliance and ensure adherence to KPIs.

  • Equipment Assembly and Repair: Assemble, prepare, and fine-tune equipment for operational use following precise assembly instructions. Conduct repairs and troubleshooting of equipment, including portable machining tools (bevelers, prepping machines), hydraulic tensioning tools, and more.

  • Stock Management and Inventory Control: Tag and systematically label departmental tools and equipment for easy identification and tracking. Log and report parts and stock inventory using both manual and digital processes, ensuring efficient stock management.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in a fast-paced shop environment.

  • Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, torque and tension tools, electrical schematics, and preventative maintenance practices.

  • Certifications in torque and tension tools and hydraulic equipment are highly desirable.

  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, literacy, and writing legibility.

  • Physical fitness, technical proficiency, and a strong focus on safety.

  • Team-oriented with effective problem-solving and customer service skills.

  • Highly adaptable with a commitment to ongoing learning and development.

Equipment Maintenance Technician Hours & Wage:

  • $22 - $25 per hour, depending on experience.

  • 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime potential.
