Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a Journeyman/woman Carpenter for our client in Lethbridge, AB. The successful candidates will will be results driven, have a sense of urgency and experience in Carpentry.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blue prints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools – selecting materials, planning sequence and methods of work)
• Measure, cut, shape assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
• Check completed tasks to be sure they are level, square, right size, shape and location
• Demolition
• Build foundations
• Supervise, train and mentor apprentices and other construction workers.

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
• Journeyman Certification and /or Red Seal Endorsement
• 3-5 years of experience required
• Class 5 Drivers license (Non- graduated)
• CSTS 2020 or newer
• Solid command of the English language both oral and written
• Proficiency in Alberta Occupational Health & Safety Code
• Safety conscious attitude with a commitment to a safe work environment
• Physical strength and stamina
• Strong communication skills- listen well, provide direction to subordinates, ask questions
• Train, mentor, and guide apprentices
• Read and interpret blueprints and building plans
• Ability to solve arithmetic problems quickly and accurately

Working details:

• The required work week is typically 7:30-4:30, Monday to Friday
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
• Work at heights
• Work in dusty and/or noisy conditions
• Some travel may be required

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to safely lift, carry and move standard construction material and tools up to 50lbs
• Stand, kneel, crouch, climb for long periods of time
