Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background and be proficient in automotive repair and maintenance. This role requires hands-on experience with various tools and equipment, as well as the ability to provide excellent customer service. The Service Technician will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that all work meets quality standards.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in many of the following areas: framing, doors & window installation, siding, roofing, flooring (varying types), tile, cabinetry, finishing carpentry (mouldings, etc..). Less critical but valuable skills include minor electrical, plumbing (Pex & ABS mainly), drywall, and painting. We are not looking for someone overly specialized in one area but rather a versatile individual with a broad skill set and a willingness to learn. Significant varied experience is preferred.

Duties

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in vehicles using schematics and diagnostic tools
• Perform automotive repairs, including engine work, transmission repairs, and brake services
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks
• Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for assembly and repair tasks
• Execute welding tasks as needed to repair or fabricate components
• Assist customers with inquiries regarding vehicle performance and maintenance needs
• Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of service requests

Experience

• Previous dealership experience is preferred but not required
• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on mechanic experience in automotive repair
• Familiarity with heavy lifting techniques for handling parts and equipment
• Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
• Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with clients about their vehicle needs
• Ability to read and interpret schematics for troubleshooting purposes
• Experience in assembly processes related to automotive components
