Job Full Description
Express Employment Professionals Cloverdale/ Langley office’s client is looking for an experienced Yard Shunt Driver for a facility located in the Campbell Heights (190st 24 Ave) area of south Surrey for a long-term opportunity.
As a Yard Shunt Driver, you begin your shift in the yard with performing a pre-trip on the Yard Hostler to insure it is in safe working order. You will be alerted to get a trailer from a staging area and place it into an assigned door and remove trailers from doors and dropped in staging areas of the yard.
How You’ll Help:
- Move trailers to and from the dock doors.
- Park and organize equipment in the yard.
- Conduct a yard check, which includes recording trailer numbers
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 License , and previous shunt experience is preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; not required
- Minimum two-year driving experience
- Able to speak, read and write English
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to perform well with time-sensitive tasks; multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Weekday shifts between 8am to 4:30pm, 30-minute unpaid lunch break
Hourly rate: $23-$24/ hour plus 4% vacation pay
