Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Generator Mechanic to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing high-powered generators and related equipment. Your expertise will ensure that our critical systems continue to operate at peak performance, making you an essential part of our commitment to excellence and safety.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance & Repair Work:

    • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on diesel, gas, or hybrid power generators and associated equipment.

    • Diagnose issues using technical manuals, blueprints, and diagnostic tools.

    • Execute repairs or replace malfunctioning components based on manufacturer’s guidelines and industry standards.

  • Testing & Quality Assurance:

    • Conduct regular output tests and load bank tests to ensure proper functioning.

    • Monitor and document performance measurements to predict potential failures and preemptively address issues.

  • Safety & Compliance:

    • Follow all safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and environmental regulations.

    • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring high operational standards at all times.

  • Documentation & Reporting:

    • Log maintenance activities, test results, and repair actions in detailed service reports.

    • Coordinate with the maintenance manager to report recurring issues and suggest equipment upgrades or replacements.

  • Emergency Support:

    • Provide after-hours emergency response and troubleshooting support when required.

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education & Certifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a technical program in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred.

    • Relevant certifications (e.g., Journeyman Certificate, ASE, or manufacturer-specific training) are an asset.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a Generator Mechanic or in a similar maintenance role in industrial settings.

    • Proven experience with the maintenance and repair of diesel, gas-powered, or hybrid generator systems.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.

    • Capability to interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and manufacturer documentation.

    • Proficiency in using diagnostic devices and tools for testing and repair.

  • Soft Skills:

    • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

    • Strong communication skills for accurate documentation and effective collaboration with team members.

    • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Work Environment:
