Job Full Description
Express Employment Professionals is currently searching for an experienced Carpenter/Custom woodworker on behalf of our client; a well-established millwork company located in Dartmouth. Our client does all aspects of commercial interior millwork. This is an opportunity to join an organization with a passion for quality.
Responsibilities:
- Build a variety of custom commercial casework and fixtures according to specifications
- Analyze and understand architectural plans, shop drawings, and technical specifications to ensure accurate construction
- Operate various woodworking machines and hand tools to cut, shape, and form parts
- Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications, making adjustments as necessary
- Work closely with project managers, designers, and other team members to coordinate construction activities and address any issues that arise
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment during the construction process
Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail & accuracy with problem solving ability
- Prior woodworking and cabinet-making experience is required
- Comfortable using hand and power tools
- Able to complete tasks accurately with minimal supervision
- Working hard on the job and ability to take good direction
- Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Able to work within a team environment
- Familiarity with large woodworking machinery is preferred
- Woodworking certificates and diplomas are considered an asset
Our client offers:
- Pay is $25-$30/hour based on experience
- Schedule is Monday to Friday from 7 am-4 pm
- No weekends!
- Located on a bus route
