Job Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities
The associate’s primary functions and responsibilities are as follows:
- Evaluate, modify, and design sanitation policies and procedures to ensure product quality and integrity. To create, maintain, and reassess written sanitation procedures that will effectively accomplish the task always ensuring food safety.
- Provide guidance and share best practices with Quality and Sanitation Managers on the environmental program.
- Assists in cross-functional investigations of deviations within the environmental program.
- Continuously improve the sanitation program through innovation and staying current on new cleaning practices, chemicals, and equipment.
- Strive to standardize procedures and activities across all facilities.
- Provide input on sanitary design and layout of new equipment and areas at all facilities.
- Provide guidance and leadership to develop a high-performance team, in addition to providing support to other teams in their efforts to meet the cleanliness standards in their areas.
- Conduct comprehensive audits of all facilities to ensure the effective implementation and operation of the sanitation program.
- Continuously review and revise to improve the master sanitation schedule.
- Determine line cleaning schedule including equipment, framework, ovens, walls, infrastructure, etc.
- Maintain a sound working relationship with other departments to ensure no interruption in business and ensure constant communication with all levels of management regarding sanitation issues.
- Consult on all performance issues, including performance appraisals, training and corrective actions.
- Ensure food safety is maintained throughout work responsibilities and immediately reports any food safety concerns to the Quality department.
- Oversee the execution and management of the cleaning and sanitation budget.
- Escalate any problems or concerns to the Quality Director in a timely manner.
- Partner with and help coordinate cleaning activities of all departments.
- Responsible for daily management and support for the team to achieve operational success.
- Monitor time and attendance and ensure compliance with Company Procedures.
- Approve the vacation requests.
- Carry out incident, accident and non-conformity investigations and associated reporting and action closure.
- Issue disciplinary action when needed.
- Perform other assigned duties.
- Follow Health and Safety rules and regulations.
- Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety, and Food Defense guidelines.
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- University Degree or College Diploma and minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in food industry sanitation
- Three years supervisory experience in a food manufacturing or consumer product industry
- Computer skills Microsoft Office applications
- Strong oral and written communication skills with all levels of the plant, organization, outside vendors and customers.
- Must be flexible to work Overtime and On Call
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
