Job Title – Maintenance Team Lead
Reports to Maintenance Manager
Duties -
· The associate’s primary functions and responsibilities are as follows:
- Oversee daily maintenance activities, ensuring efficient operation of mechanical, electrical, and production systems during the assigned shift.
- Monitor and improve equipment performance and production floor efficiency using OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and downtime analysis.
- Train and mentor maintenance technicians in advanced troubleshooting techniques, including electrical diagnostics, PLC programming, and mechanical repairs, following the company’s training program.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address recurring equipment failures or inefficiencies.
- Perform emergency repairs and provide technical guidance on production equipment, including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety procedures during maintenance tasks, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols and working with high-voltage equipment.
- Allocate resources and assign tasks for Work Orders and Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules to ensure timely completion.
- Collaborate with leadership to align maintenance strategies with company priorities and operational goals.
- Ensure compliance with electrical and mechanical safety codes, as well as all relevant federal, provincial, and local regulations.
- Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to track work orders, manage inventory, and document maintenance activities for improved system reliability.
- Responsible for daily management and support for the team to achieve operational success.
- Monitor time and attendance and ensure compliance with Company Procedures.
- Approve the vacation requests.
- Carry out incident, accident and non-conformity investigations and associated reporting and action closure.
- Issue disciplinary action when needed.
- Perform other assigned duties and manage waterlogs.
- Follow Health and Safety rules and regulations.
- Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety, and Food Defense guidelines.
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, with expertise in PLCs.
- Industrial Millwright 433A or Electrical License (309A or 442) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OEE metrics, downtime analysis, and root cause analysis (RCA) for improving equipment performance.
- Familiarity with health and safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and high-voltage safety standards.
- Proficiency in using CMMS for work order tracking, inventory management, and maintenance documentation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions
- May be exposed to hot temperatures from ovens.
- May work close to others, usually within a few feet.
- Compliant with ventilation, cleanliness, space, lighting, and temperature.
Physical Requirements
- Standing involved.
- May repeat the same movement.
- Often wear safety equipment such as gloves, hair nets, steel-toed safety shoes/boots, and beard nets.
- Ability to bend or twist their body.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
