Previous 3 years minimum of working experience as a Custom Welder is required. Only candidates with the required experience will be contacted.
Job Summary:
Express Employment Professionals is seeking a skilled TIG/Flex Core Welder to join our client in Waterloo. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures using MIG and flux-cored arc welding (FCAW) techniques. This position requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform TIG and flux-cored welding on steel, aluminum, and other metals as required.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols to ensure accuracy.
- Set up, operate, and maintain welding machines and tools.
- Inspect welds for quality, accuracy, and structural integrity.
- Perform grinding, cutting, and finishing work to meet project specifications.
- Work with fabrication teams to assemble components and structures.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas.
- Troubleshoot welding issues and adjust techniques as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience as a TIG/Flex Core Welder.
- Proficiency in TIG and FCAW welding techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
- Strong understanding of welding processes, metallurgy, and material properties.
- Experience using grinders, torches, and other fabrication tools.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in various positions (standing, kneeling, overhead).
- Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in welding.
- Welding certification (AWS or equivalent) preferred but not required.
