Shift: Monday – Friday (Day Shift and afternoon) | Overtime as needed| Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM | Afternoon Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM |
Wage: $20-$21 based on shift
Summary:
Express Employment Professionals is looking for dedicated and hardworking individuals to join our clients team as Meat Production and Processing Workers. This role involves preparing, processing, packaging, and inspecting meat products to meet quality standards and production goals. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, physically capable, and committed to maintaining health, safety, and sanitation standards in a fast-paced environment. Please note you must be able to handle all types of raw meat - pork, poultry, beef etc.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meat Preparation and Processing:
- Operate machinery and tools to cut, grind, debone, or process meat products.
- Perform tasks such as trimming, slicing, and portioning meat according to specifications.
- Monitor and adjust processing equipment for optimal performance.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect meat products for quality, freshness, and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Remove any defective or non-compliant products during the production process.
- Packaging and Labeling:
- Weigh, package, and label meat products accurately for distribution.
- Ensure that packaging meets food safety and presentation standards.
- Safety and Sanitation:
- Follow strict hygiene and food safety protocols, including proper handling, cleaning, and storage procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work as part of a team to meet production schedules and goals.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to address issues or improve processes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Prior experience in meat processing, food production, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and workplace safety standards.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment:
- Cold or refrigerated work areas to ensure product freshness.
- Exposure to sharp tools, heavy machinery, and loud noise levels.
- Shift work may be required, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends.
- Physically fit and capable of repetitive tasks, including lifting up to 66 lbs
- Willingness to wear full PPE (steel-toe boots, bump cap, hairnet, face mask, hearing protection)
- Prior experience in food processing or manufacturing is an asset, but not required
