Banquet Manager (Seasonal Contract)

Contract Duration: Approximately November 1, 2025 – February 1, 2026

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Banquet Manager to join our client’s team for the upcoming event season. This position oversees banquet operations, ensuring seamless event execution, exceptional guest experiences, and adherence to company standards.

Responsibilities:

·         Organize, lead, and supervise staff during functions, including setup, service, and bar operations.

·         Communicate effectively with clients and function conveners regarding contracts, event details, and any changes.

·         Ensure completion and accuracy of captain reports and consumption reports.

·         Schedule, train, and support staff to deliver excellent service.

·         Oversee bar operations and other ongoing events to maintain quality and efficiency.

·         Collaborate with other Banquet Managers to delegate tasks, uphold service standards, and maintain operational consistency.

·         Supervise post-event cleanup, ensuring all areas are left organized and tidy.

·         Manage and control inventory for equipment, beverages, and alcohol; submit weekly orders as required.

·         Enforce company policies, including alcohol service and smoking regulations.

Assistant Manager Qualifications:

·         Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in the Food Service or Hospitality industry, preferably in Banquet or Restaurant Management.

·         Post-secondary education in Hospitality or a related field preferred.

·         Proven ability to train and motivate staff in food and beverage service standards.

·         Skilled in handling guest inquiries, complaints, and concerns professionally and efficiently.

·         Strong leadership and time management skills, with the ability to perform in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

·         Exceptional customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.

·         Knowledge of and compliance with company health and safety guidelines, the Occupational Health & Safety Act, and WHMIS regulations.

·         Ability to work collaboratively with a large and diverse team.

·         Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

·         Physically able to stand for extended periods and work both on-site and off-site events.
