Job Title: Truck-Trailer Service Technician (310J)

Department: Maintenance / Service

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and certified Truck-Trailer Service Technician (310J) to join our clients maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial truck-trailers in accordance with manufacturer and industry standards. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on trailers, including brakes, suspension, electrical systems, and structural components.

  • Inspect trailer components to identify wear, damage, or mechanical issues and recommend necessary repairs.

  • Diagnose and repair trailer systems, including air brakes, lighting, hydraulics, and wheel-end assemblies.

  • Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections in accordance with CVOR and DOT regulations.

  • Document work performed using repair orders, inspection checklists, and maintenance records.

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company procedures.

  • Operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., welding equipment, pneumatic tools, diagnostic devices).

  • Collaborate with team members and service advisors to ensure timely and accurate repair completion.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Valid 310J Truck-Trailer Service Technician Certificate of Qualification (Ontario or equivalent).

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in trailer repair or heavy-duty vehicle maintenance.

  • Strong knowledge of trailer systems, air brakes, ABS systems, suspension, and welding techniques.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.

  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.

  • Physical ability to lift heavy parts and work in varying conditions (indoor/outdoor).

  • Valid driver’s license (DZ or AZ an asset).

  • Safety certifications (WHMIS, First Aid, etc.) are an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • Workshop or garage environment with exposure to loud noises, grease, fumes, and heavy equipment.

  • Some outdoor work in varied weather conditions may be required.

  • Use of PPE required (safety boots, glasses, gloves, etc.)
