This role is within a well‑established, licensed mechanical and general contracting firm serving residential and commercial projects. Specializing in HVAC, plumbing, renovations, and mechanical maintenance.

Role Summary

Lead and grow the HVAC division by overseeing installations, service, and maintenance of heating and cooling systems. Ensure technical excellence, timely delivery, safety compliance, and a reputation for professionalism. Support operational efficiency and build strong customer trust.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise HVAC technicians, installers, and administrative team.

  • Assign and manage daily tasks—service calls, installations, preventative maintenance.

  • Mentor team members, foster career growth, and conduct regular performance reviews.

Operations & Project Management

  • Schedule and coordinate HVAC jobs across multiple service areas.

  • Oversee accurate estimating, budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation.

  • Manage inventory cycles for equipment and parts.

Technical Quality & Compliance

  • Provide hands‑on support for technical troubleshooting and complex jobs.

  • Ensure all installations meet relevant codes and standards.

  • Keep certifications current and train staff on industry best practices and emerging HVAC technology.

Customer Experience

  • Handle escalations with professionalism, ensuring resolution and satisfaction.

  • Work closely with clients (including property managers and condo owners) to offer tailored HVAC solutions.

  • Conduct site visits, prepare estimates, and support sales and consultations.

Safety & Standards

  • Enforce safety policies, leading toolbox talks and ensuring job-site compliance.

  • Maintain ISO-level processes for service delivery and quality assurance.

  • Respond to emergency calls (24/7 on‑call rotation) when needed.

Required Qualifications

Experience & Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent; HVAC certification or tech diploma preferred.

  • 5 + years in HVAC roles, including 2 + years in a supervisory or managerial position.

  • Strong familiarity with residential and multi-residential HVAC systems, water heaters, ducting, refrigeration, and related controls.

Skills & Attributes

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational capabilities.

  • Proficiency with HVAC software, dispatch systems, and standard office tools.

  • Practical ability with blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation.

  • Holds a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Customer & Business Focus

  • Client-centric approach: detail-oriented, honest, and fair.

  • Strong estimating and budgeting skills.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with project managers, sales teams, and subcontractors.

Working Conditions

  • Mix of field (site visits) and office environments.

  • Some after‑hours or weekend availability required for emergencies or peak periods.

  • Physical capacity to lift up to 50 lbs and operate in various conditions like attics, basements, rooftops.
