Job Full Description
Hardwood manufacturer in the Georgetown area is looking for a shop assistant to join their team on a temporary basis. If you enjoy doing a variety of different tasks in a day, have previous machine operation experience and can lift, push and pull up to 50lbs, we want to hear from you.
What’s Offered:
- 18.50/hr.
- Monday to Friday 9:00am to 6pm; however, does require flexibility to work overtime due to workflow
- Work directly with the owner and learn and develop your skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up wood on machinery for finishing
- Take finished product off machines and stack onto skids to prepare for shipping
- Housekeeping tasks around the facility
- Support the owner with other general tasks around the shop
- Troubleshoot any issues with the machinery
- Ensure all shipping labels are correct
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience working in a general labor role
- Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50lbs, comfortably
- Previous machine operation experience is an asset
- Demonstrates common sense and has the ability to learn new skills
- Valid driver license and access to a vehicle, daily is an asset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
