Job Title: Software Applications Developer - Project Leader
Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced and driven Software Applications Developer - Project Leader to join our client's team. In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of automation projects, working closely with customers and internal teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions. This position requires strong technical expertise, excellent project management skills, and the ability to motivate and lead a design team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Plan and schedule projects, ensuring they meet customer expectations and are completed within the budgeted time and cost.
- SCADA Software Programming: Develop and implement SCADA solutions using platforms such as Intouch, FactoryTalk View, and WinCC.
- System Integration: Select and integrate computer hardware, design and implement industrial networks, and integrate systems with existing customer IT infrastructure.
- Software Development: Utilize Visual Basic .NET and understand databases, primarily Microsoft SQL, to create reliable and efficient solutions.
- OPC Server Familiarity: Configure and manage OPC servers for seamless communication between systems.
- CAD Design: Utilize AutoCAD or EPlan to create system designs (experience is an asset).
- PLC & HMI Programming: Develop and troubleshoot PLC and HMI systems, with a focus on Allen-Bradley (AB) and Siemens platforms.
- Documentation: Write detailed specifications, instruction manuals, and project-related documentation.
- Team Leadership: Lead and motivate the design team to achieve project goals and exceed customer expectations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a three-year Engineering Technology diploma.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in automation or related fields.
- Proficiency in SCADA software, Visual Basic .NET, and SQL databases.
- Understanding of networking principles, including industrial networks and OPC servers.
- Experience with CAD design software (AutoCAD or EPlan) is an asset.
- Strong technical knowledge of PLCs and HMIs, especially Allen-Bradley and Siemens systems.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team.
