Job Full Description

Our client in Ajax is looking for a Material Handler to join their growing team.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for receiving and inspecting inbound material and shipping finished products
  • Operate Forklift in a safe manner
  • Offload & inspect inbound raw material and laminate
  • Create labels for required raw material and correctly load raw material and laminate into warehouse system
  • Properly dispose of all waste packaging materials associated with inbound materials
  • Properly document any damage observed when material is off-loaded
  • Verify that all paperwork is accurate according to the actual materials being received
  • Communicate effectively with drivers
  • Shipping finished products; Unload mill rolls, maintain inventory of materials, wrapping pallets & pulling stock orders
  • Assist in other areas of finishing as needed
  • Perform all duties in full compliance of all laws, safety and environmental regulations, and in a manner consistent with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform all duties consistent with the Roles and Responsibilities defined in the company’s OHS Standards and Guidelines.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 2-5 years of Material Handling experience (Industrial setting)
  • 2-5 years of Forklift Operation experience (Clamp Truck)
  • Valid Forklift license required (Clamp Truck)
  • Completion of High School Diploma
  • Ability to work well within a team required
  • Must demonstrate well-developed problem solving skills, including the ability and willingness to apply a systematic approach to processes
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint). 
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational and prioritization skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to understand and adhere to written work instructions

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Must be highly motivated and able to work without direct supervision
  • Must have ability to multi-task
  • Must be willing to work in a safe manner and ability to keep work area neat and organized

Compensation and Hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 6:30am to 3:00pm
  • Pay Rate: $24 per hour
