Our Scarborough client, a non-profit organization providing support opportunities for youth, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to join their dynamic team!

Responsibilities:

  • Perform day-to-day bookkeeping using QuickBooks Online (data entry of invoices, payments, and transactions)
  • Assist with month-end and year-end accounting activities, including reconciling accounts and preparing financial statements
  • Maintain financial records in full compliance with CRA, provincial funding requirements, and regulatory guidelines
  • Gather and prepare documentation for Ministry reintegration funding requests and monthly transaction reporting
  • Manage procurement and purchasing processes using online expense reporting software for automated receipts and invoices
  • Record, categorize, and reconcile all financial transactions in QuickBooks Online
  • Oversee general expense management, including petty cash handling and staff expense reimbursements
  • Provide backup support for payroll processing, keeping employee data and records current
  • Assist with time reporting tracking and overtime management
  • Offer administrative support to other departments as needed
  • Ensure all financial documentation follows internal security, privacy, and retention policies
  • Perform other tasks that may be assigned

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of Bookkeeping or Accounting experience (Non-Profit, Charity, Public Sector)
  • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks (Online)
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Able to manage full cycle accounting (from transaction to reporting)
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Clean criminal background check required

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA) charitable requirements and provincial funding reporting
  • Experience with payroll software systems
  • Understanding of trauma-informed or youth-serving environments
  • Ability to handle a variety of high-pressure situations and work independently

 Compensation and Hours:

  • Tuesday to Thursday: 9:00am to 5:00pm
  • Pay Rate: $25-30 per hour
