Job Full Description
Our Pickering client, an construction company specializing in excavation and backfilling, is looking for an Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist to join their growing team!

Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll using QuickBooks Desktop Pro
- Process vendor invoices, credit card statements, and weekly EFT payments
- Process payroll for approximately 12 employees
- Prepare and submit government remittances (HST, payroll deductions, WSIB)
- Reconcile bank accounts and maintain accurate financial records
- Process T4s, ROEs, and support year-end activities
- Assist with project-based AP tracking within a construction environment
- Perform general administrative and office support duties as needed
- Perform other tasks that may be assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
- 2-3 years of proven experience in Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Bookkeeping
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks (Desktop)
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and organization
- Ability to manage time effectively and work independently
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written0
- Excellent time management skills
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience in Construction or Excavation industry accounting (asset)
- Familiarity with Union Payroll (asset)
- Ability to handle a variety of high-pressure situations and work independently
Compensation and Hours:
- 1-2 days per week: 9:30am to 5:30pm
- Pay Rate: $25-28 per hour
