Job Title: Woodworking Machinist

Location: Concord, Ontario
Job Type: Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4:00 pm
Department: Manufacturing / Production


Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Woodworking Machinist to operate woodworking machinery and equipment to produce high-quality wood components and finished products. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with various machines such as CNC routers, panel saws, planers, jointers, and moulders. Precision, safety, and craftsmanship are key in this role.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate woodworking machines (e.g., saws, planers, routers, sanders, moulders) to cut, shape, and finish wood parts.

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders.

  • Measure, mark, and inspect materials to ensure accuracy and quality.

  • Monitor machines during operation to detect malfunctions and make adjustments as needed.

  • Perform routine maintenance on machines and tools.

  • Ensure all products meet company quality standards and specifications.

  • Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Work collaboratively with other machinists, carpenters, and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a woodworking machinist or in a similar role in wood manufacturing.

  • Familiarity with woodworking machinery, tools, and materials.

  • Ability to read technical drawings and measurements accurately.

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.

  • Good physical condition and the ability to lift heavy materials.

  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training is a plus.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • CNC machine operation experience.

  • Experience in cabinetry, millwork, or custom wood fabrication.

  • Forklift certification (if applicable).


Working Conditions:

  • Workshop/Factory environment with exposure to noise, wood dust, and machinery.

  • Standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs may be required.

  • Use of PPE such as ear protection, safety glasses, and dust masks.
