Job Title: Woodworking Machinist
Location: Concord, Ontario
Job Type: Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4:00 pm
Department: Manufacturing / Production
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Woodworking Machinist to operate woodworking machinery and equipment to produce high-quality wood components and finished products. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with various machines such as CNC routers, panel saws, planers, jointers, and moulders. Precision, safety, and craftsmanship are key in this role.
Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate woodworking machines (e.g., saws, planers, routers, sanders, moulders) to cut, shape, and finish wood parts.

Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders.

Measure, mark, and inspect materials to ensure accuracy and quality.

Monitor machines during operation to detect malfunctions and make adjustments as needed.

Perform routine maintenance on machines and tools.

Ensure all products meet company quality standards and specifications.

Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Work collaboratively with other machinists, carpenters, and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.

Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Requirements:

Proven experience as a woodworking machinist or in a similar role in wood manufacturing.

Familiarity with woodworking machinery, tools, and materials.

Ability to read technical drawings and measurements accurately.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.

Good physical condition and the ability to lift heavy materials.

Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.

High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:

CNC machine operation experience.

Experience in cabinetry, millwork, or custom wood fabrication.

Forklift certification (if applicable).
Working Conditions:

Workshop/Factory environment with exposure to noise, wood dust, and machinery.

Standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs may be required.

Use of PPE such as ear protection, safety glasses, and dust masks.
