Plant Scheduler
About the Role:
We’re looking for a Production Scheduler to join our team in a full-time, permanent role. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you’ll play a key role in preparing and maintaining production schedules to keep things running smoothly. This role is all about making sure resources are used effectively, jobs are delivered on time, and the plant stays productive and organized.
If you have strong experience with scheduling in a machine shop/manufacturing environment (CNC, milling, grinding, assembly), we’d love to hear from you.
What You’ll Do:
- Create and maintain weekly production schedules
- Work closely with Production Supervisors to build efficient workflows
- Monitor daily output and adjust schedules to meet customer demand
- Track plant capacity and resource needs (people, equipment, materials)
- Flag any late or at-risk jobs and communicate with Sales/Production
- Oversee scheduling for shipping and on-time customer deliveries
- Plan for labor needs (including overtime, vacations, absences)
- Provide accurate lead-times for quoting and order commitments
- Generate and update open order reports for internal teams and customers
- Quickly resolve scheduling, manpower, or material issues as they come up
- Look for ways to improve scheduling processes and support lean initiatives
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in production scheduling within a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment (machine shop strongly preferred)
- Solid knowledge of machining processes (manual and CNC: milling, turning, grinding, assembly)
- Machinist/Toolmaker background is a strong asset
- Comfortable working with ERP systems and scheduling software
- Strong understanding of production flow and lean manufacturing practices
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel in particular)
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to make sound, accountable decisions under pressure

- Pay: $25.00 – $40.00/hour (based on experience)
