The Senior Manager – Assurance & Accounting is a key leadership role focused on:
- Overseeing and reviewing assurance, review, and compilation engagements
- Managing client relationships (diverse portfolio of Medical Professionals, Construction & Manufacturing clients, and Retail business Owners) and providing advisory insight
- Mentoring and reviewing the work of staff accountants and seniors
- Ensuring compliance with CPA standards and firm methodology
- Supporting partners with workflow management and client delivery
- Reports to: Partners, Team size: Supervises several junior/intermediate accountants (between 6-10)
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Assurance: audits, reviews, and compilations of financial statements
- Tax: preparation and planning for corporate (80%) and personal taxes (20%)
- Advisory: business consulting, process improvement, and financial planning. This will encompass about 20% of the hired candidate’s time and workload. If this is an area of interest and passion, the hired candidate can be given more responsibilities with client advisory.
- Plan, review, and finalize assurance and accounting engagements
- Review working papers and financial statements
- Communicate directly with clients regarding results and recommendations
- Supervise and mentor team members (training, quality review, feedback)
- Assist in tax planning and compliance (corporate and personal)
- Contribute to process improvement and firm initiatives (software, efficiency)
- Use software such as CaseWare, TaxPrep, Sage, QuickBooks/QBO, Microsoft Office

This full-time, permanent position offers a salary of $65,000 - $80,000 annual salary with many perks and benefits. Scheduled workday is 7.5 hours with some flexibility with start/end times. During February through April, expectation is to work an additional 3.5 hours per week, and the firm is closed over the December Holiday Season (additional 3 paid days off).
Ideal Candidate Profile
- CPA Designation (or nearing completion) OR 5+ years of experience in public accounting
- Strong assurance and tax review background
- Confident communicator with strong client service orientation
- Experienced leader and mentor within a small/mid-sized firm
- Proficient with accounting software (CaseWare, TaxPrep, QuickBooks, Sage)
- Balanced mindset — values quality, relationships, and work-life integration
- Strong interpersonal skills and enjoy working with a small and talented team
