Job Full Description
Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a mid-sized manufacturing company located in Beamsville. We are hiring for a Purchaser/Buyer. If you are interested in a great entry level position, please contact our office.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collate purchase orders and purchase requisitions to order materials, goods and supplies.
- Send purchase orders to the suppliers.
- Compare and evaluate offers from suppliers
- Interact with the suppliers on a day to day basis.
- Compare product deliveries with issued purchase orders and contact vendors when there are discrepancies
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery
- Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed
- Deal with non-supplied, under orders, over orders and damaged goods.
- Ensure that any invoices are sent to accounts for payment.
- Produce and maintain reports.
- Manage any procurement activities including RFP’s (Request for Proposals).
- Maintain strong working relationships with key suppliers to ensure merchandise is high quality and delivered on time.
- Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices
- Develop an active process for measuring supply inventory and determining purchasing needs based on quarterly and annual numbers
- Research potential vendors
- Review quality of purchased products
- Enter order details (e.g. vendors, quantities, prices) into internal databases
- You will review prices and quality and ensure optimal stock levels.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage

What We're Looking For
Preferred Experience
- 2-3 years exposure to production buying, planning, scheduling, dispatching, or workflow coordination
- Understanding of manufacturing practices, goods, materials, supplies
- Experience using ERP systems or production software is considered an asset
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong critical thinking, planning, and procurement skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Work well with a small Supply Chain team of 2-3 others, within an organization of 40-50 employees
