Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join the accounting team. The successful candidate will take a lead role in full-cycle accounting, monthly close processes, financial reporting, and compliance. This position is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional looking for meaningful work in a stable and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Full-Cycle Accounting

  • Manage daily accounting activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Maintain and oversee the general ledger to ensure accurate financial data.

Month-End & Year-End Close

  • Lead month-end close activities and ensure timely, accurate financial statements.
  • Prepare year-end working papers and support external audits.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare internal financial statements and management reports.
  • Analyze financial performance and provide insights to support decision-making.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

AP/AR Oversight

  • Review accounts payable and receivable processes for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Resolve discrepancies and ensure appropriate documentation.

Compliance & Internal Controls

  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards and internal control procedures.
  • Maintain organized financial records and support ongoing process improvements.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Partner with operations and management teams on cross-functional initiatives.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting and support special projects as needed.
  • Assist with continuous improvement of accounting workflows.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (manufacturing/industrial sector an asset).
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and full-cycle accounting principles.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and MS Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a family-oriented environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
