Position Summary
Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will oversee all financial operations, ensuring strong internal controls, optimized processes, and accurate financial reporting. This leadership role will manage the accounting team and collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to enhance operational efficiency and support ongoing company growth.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Leadership
- Lead day-to-day accounting functions including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger activities.
- Manage, mentor, and support the accounting team, fostering ongoing development.
Process Optimization & Controls
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, policies, and workflows.
- Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to protect company assets and maintain financial integrity.
- Partner with department leads to evaluate and streamline financial processes.
Month-End, Year-End & Compliance
- Oversee and review month-end and year-end close to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage cash flow, bank reconciliations, and working capital oversight.
- Coordinate external audits and ensure compliance with regulatory and accounting standards.
- Ensure tax compliance by working with external advisors and managing internal tax processes.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities through system optimization and alignment with key stakeholders.
- Provide insights and recommendations to strengthen financial performance and operational efficiency.
Financial Systems & Documentation
- Serve as a point of contact for financial systems administration, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Prepare process documentation and training materials for the finance and accounting team.
Other Duties
- Contribute to cross-functional initiatives to support business growth.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA or equivalent designation preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
- Strong understanding of internal controls, financial processes, and systems.
- Proficiency with accounting software and financial systems administration.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
