Job Full Description
Schedule: Day shift, typically 9-10 hour shifts
Term: Contract (6-9 months, with potential for extension)
Position Overview:
We are seeking experienced Machine Builders to join our team on a contract basis. This is a hands-on role assembling and installing machinery and equipment based on detailed blueprints and specifications. You’ll work closely with other skilled trades in a collaborative, team-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Follow established manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and direction from Manufacturing Leaders.
· Review blueprints, schematic drawings, and layouts to determine proper work procedures and sequence of operations.
· Assemble and install component parts and equipment into machinery using various hand and power tools.
· Operate metalworking machines to file, grind, tack weld, drill, or turn parts to meet dimensional specifications.
· Assist electricians, pipefitters, robot programmers, and PLC programmers during try-out and debug stages, making adjustments or alterations as needed.
· Perform rigging and dismantling functions when preparing machinery for shipping.
· Assist with re-assembly and final adjustments of equipment at customer sites.
Qualifications and Skills:
· Completed high school diploma required; additional college training or a completed apprenticeship (Millwright, Toolmaker, Machine Tool Builder, etc.) preferred.
· Knowledge of the machine tool build industry.
· Ability to safely operate, and obtain certification to operate, equipment such as overhead cranes and forklifts.
· Must be comfortable working in a team-based environment.
· Must have own set of basic tools needed for the trade (e.g., tape measure, Allen wrenches, screwdrivers, drill, etc.).
