IPM Consultant
Location: Leamington, ON
Join an innovative biological crop protection company dedicated to providing sustainable alternatives to pesticides for greenhouse growers. Help shape the future of eco-friendly agriculture while supporting growers in cultivating healthy, pest-free crops.
Position Overview:
The IPM Consultant will work closely with greenhouse growers to monitor pest activity, develop integrated pest management strategies, and provide training and recommendations that promote sustainable, cost-effective growing practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct field inspections to monitor crop health and identify pest or disease issues.
- Develop and recommend tailored IPM strategies using biological and cultural control methods.
- Advise growers on sustainable pest management solutions.
- Provide training, demonstrations, and technical support to growers and their staff.
- Maintain strong relationships with growers and assist with pest risk assessments.
- Collaborate with internal teams to stay updated on the latest biological control products and research.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Entomology, Plant Science, Agronomy, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in pest management, greenhouse production, or IPM leadership.
- Strong knowledge of greenhouse pests, biological control agents, and IPM principles.
- Proficiency with microscopes and diagnostic tools.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites.
