Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Commercial Transport Driver to join their team. This is a long-term, full-time contract position. This is a no-touch freight role where you will safely and efficiently transport industrial batteries between the client’s facility and customer sites. Drivers play a key role in representing the client and must demonstrate professionalism, safety, and reliability at all times.
This position requires independence, adaptability, and a strong commitment to safety and customer service.
Shifts Available: You will be assigned to one of two shifts:
- Afternoons: 3:30 PM – 12:30 AM
- Nights: 12:30 AM – 6:30 AM
Key Responsibilities:
- Practice safe work behaviors, never take unnecessary risks, and keep safety as your #1 priority.
- Deliver fully charged industrial batteries to customer sites using customized low-boy trailers, drop off loaded trailers, and return with depleted batteries for recharging.
- Drive the same routes multiple times per shift.
- Inspect tractors prior to starting each shift and periodically during trailer swaps.
- Complete accurate trip manifests and ensure all records are correct.
- Maintain valid Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certification throughout employment.
- Refuel tractors as needed.
- Ensure all tractors and trailers meet annual inspection requirements.
- Adjust tractor/trailer airbags when coupling or uncoupling trailers.
- Immediately report any equipment or facility repair needs.
- Battery Support (as time permits): Assist with watering, washing, charging, and visual inspections of batteries.
- Maintain a professional appearance (dress, grooming, and conduct).
- Use appropriate language and keep discussions professional.
- Check in with client staff upon arrival and departure at customer locations.
- Show up on time, work your full shift, and operate autonomously throughout the day.
- Adapt to changing daily priorities that may shift with little, or no notice based on customer needs.
- Be available for weekend shifts when required. Schedules are typically announced on Thursday but may occasionally be confirmed on Friday.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid AZ driver’s license (required).
- Valid Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certification (must be maintained throughout employment).
- Previous commercial driving experience preferred.
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
