Their Windsor operations include several modern facilities focused on high-volume production, precision manufacturing, and continuous improvement through automation and robotics.
Position Overview
The Industrial Electrician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, automation equipment, and production machinery across multiple plant locations. This role supports safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing operations on the afternoon shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance on electrical systems, robotics, PLCs, injection molding equipment, and automated production machinery.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and enhance equipment reliability.
- Diagnose electrical faults using meters and testing equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Install, modify, and upgrade electrical components and systems as required.
- Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to support continuous improvement.
- Complete all work in accordance with safety regulations and company standards.
- Provide support across multiple Windsor plants (all within 15 minutes).
- Participate in occasional Saturday overtime as required by the collective agreement (see OT details below).
Qualifications
- Licensed Electrician – 442A Industrial Electrician strongly preferred.
- 309A Construction Electrician may be considered if candidate has strong industrial manufacturing experience.
- Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of PLC-controlled systems (troubleshooting experience required).
- Ability to work independently on the afternoon shift.
- Valid driver’s license (travel between plants required).
Tools Required
- Basic hand tools (wrenches, Allen keys, hammers)
- Electrician’s meter and standard electrical hand tools
Overtime Details
- Overtime has varied but generally occurs on Saturdays.
- After 90 days: maximum requirement of 2 Saturdays per month.
- Weekday overtime is voluntary.
