About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Carpenter to join our clients team, with a strong focus on commercial renovations and retrofits. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of technical ability, attention to detail, and professionalism to both large-scale and smaller, specialty projects.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and complete commercial renovation/retrofit projects, with occasional residential work.

  • Perform steel stud and conventional wood framing.

  • Work in sensitive and high-security environments (group homes, jails, courthouses, museums, etc.).

  • Install T-bar and ceiling grids.

  • Drywall installation and finishing.

  • Custom framing (e.g., stair railings, shelving).

  • Concrete forming and finishing.

  • Finish carpentry, including interior/exterior doors and hardware installation.

  • Interpret and work from architectural and engineering drawings.

  • Work safely around sprinkler, alarm, and security systems.

  • Coordinate with apprentices, subtrades, and other journeymen to ensure project timelines are met

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • Journeyman Carpenter certification (Red Seal preferred).

  • Proven experience in commercial renovations/retrofits.

  • Strong blueprint reading and specification interpretation skills.

  • Ability to lead and mentor apprentices.

  • Comfortable working in sensitive or high-security environments.

  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
