About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Carpenter to join our clients team, with a strong focus on commercial renovations and retrofits. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of technical ability, attention to detail, and professionalism to both large-scale and smaller, specialty projects.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and complete commercial renovation/retrofit projects, with occasional residential work.

Perform steel stud and conventional wood framing.
-
Work in sensitive and high-security environments (group homes, jails, courthouses, museums, etc.).
-
Install T-bar and ceiling grids.
-
Drywall installation and finishing.
-
Custom framing (e.g., stair railings, shelving).
-
Concrete forming and finishing.
-
Finish carpentry, including interior/exterior doors and hardware installation.
-
Interpret and work from architectural and engineering drawings.
-
Work safely around sprinkler, alarm, and security systems.

Coordinate with apprentices, subtrades, and other journeymen to ensure project timelines are met
Qualifications & Skills
-
Journeyman Carpenter certification (Red Seal preferred).
-
Proven experience in commercial renovations/retrofits.
-
Strong blueprint reading and specification interpretation skills.
-
Ability to lead and mentor apprentices.
-
Comfortable working in sensitive or high-security environments.
-
Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
