About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper / General Accountant to join our team in Lacombe, Alberta. This is an in-person role with no remote work option. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting skills, a keen eye for detail, and experience in managing complex financial operations within the oilfield or trucking industry.
This position also requires flexibility to assist other departments when team members are away, ensuring smooth operations across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-cycle accounting including AP/AR, GST, and invoicing
- Manage payroll for 45+ employees
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with regulations
- Prepare and analyze financial statements
- Oversee month-end and year-end processes
- Collaborate with management on budgeting and forecasting
- Provide support to other departments as needed
Required Qualifications
- QuickBooks Desktop experience (mandatory)
- Proven experience in oilfield or trucking industry (mandatory)
- Strong knowledge of payroll processing for large teams
- Expertise in AP/AR, GST, and invoicing
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA designation or working towards CPA
- Advanced proficiency in accounting principles and financial reporting
