Express Employment Professionals is currently recruiting for a Human Resources Generalist on behalf of a growing manufacturing company with operations across North America. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team in Abbotsford and play a key role in supporting HR initiatives, employee relations, and company growth.
About the Role:
Reporting directly to the Director of HR, the HR Generalist is responsible for delivering professional and effective human resources services to employees across departments. This role will focus on recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, compliance, HRIS management, and health & safety initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead full-cycle recruitment: job postings, resume screening, interviews, reference checks, and offer coordination.
- Facilitate onboarding processes to ensure a smooth and positive start for new hires.
- Maintain and manage employee records in ADP WorkforceNow in partnership with the payroll team.
- Address employee questions and concerns while fostering a respectful and inclusive work environment.
- Draft employment agreements and HR documents for review and approval.
- Ensure HR compliance with employment laws and internal policies.
- Assist in identifying training needs and coordinate employee development opportunities.
- Manage employee lifecycle documents, including status changes, policy updates, and other HR paperwork.
- Support workplace health and safety programs and participate in the joint health & safety committee.
- Coordinate employee offboarding and conduct exit interviews.
- Run HR reports, analyze trends, and escalate insights to management.
- Provide payroll support during vacation periods to ensure timely and accurate processing.
- Other HR-related tasks as required.
Working Environment:
- Office-based with frequent interaction on the production floor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of HR experience with strengths in recruitment, employee relations, and compliance.
- CPHR designation (or in progress) is required.
- Strong understanding of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with HRIS platforms (preferably ADP WorkforceNow) and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
