Key Responsibilities
- Install, service, and repair gas appliances and related systems in residential and commercial settings.
- Inspect and troubleshoot gas lines and equipment to ensure safety and reliability.
- Perform maintenance duties such as ventilation cleaning, chimney sweeping, and dryer vent servicing.
- Operate tools and equipment safely, including power tools and vehicles up to 5 tonnes.
- Communicate with customers professionally to provide excellent service and build trust.
- Work independently and as part of a team to complete jobs efficiently and safely.
- Maintain clear records of work completed and materials used.
Qualifications & Skills
- Enrollment in, or interest in starting, a Gas B Apprenticeship Program (Gas C or B ticket an asset).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence (required) and ability to operate a 5-tonne truck.
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Reliable, safety-minded, and motivated to build a long-term trade career.
- Must be able to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing, when working with customers and team members.
Requirements
- Proven experience in HVAC systems, plumbing, or related fields is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Familiarity with rigging practices and basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Competence in reading blueprints and schematics relevant to gas installations.
- Experience with welding techniques (MIG/TIG) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
