Job Title: MIG Welder – Manufacturing (Fergus, ON)
Location: Fergus, Ontario
Job Type: Full-Time
Shift: Day Shift (Monday to Friday)
Express Employment Professionals is hiring on behalf of a reputable company located in Fergus, ON. We are seeking experienced and reliable MIG Welders to join a growing team in the manufacturing of custom horse stalls and related equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Weld mild and galvanized steel components to build horse stalls
- Interpret work orders, engineered drawings, and blueprints accurately
- Perform MIG (GMAW) welding on steel from 14 gauge up to ¾" thick
- Use hand tools such as grinders, hammers, and sanders to finish parts
- Operate in a shop environment with exposure to noise and fumes
- Maintain attention to detail and high-quality standards throughout production
- Adhere to Lean Manufacturing principles and safety procedures
- Lift heavy materials (50+ lbs) and utilize overhead cranes as needed
- Stand for extended periods and complete repetitive physical tasks
- Participate as a team player and maintain a positive, reliable work ethic
- Willingness to work overtime when required
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of MIG welding experience (required)
- 2–4 years in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Comfortable working with various thicknesses of steel
- Welding school diploma preferred
- Welding certifications are an asset but not required – skills and experience matter most
- Laser welding experience is an asset
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license (no public transit available to Fergus location)
- Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced environment
