Job Title: Bilingual Accounting & Bookkeeping Specialist

About the Role

Express Employment Professionals is hiring on behalf of a well-established company in Guelph for a Bilingual (English & French) Accounting & Bookkeeping Specialist. This position is perfect for a detail-oriented professional with strong accounting skills, experience in Sage/AccPac (or other accounting software), and the ability to work fluently in both official languages.

You will handle all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, prepare financial statements, and ensure compliance with accounting principles, practices, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use bilingual communication skills (English & French) to manage interactions with clients, vendors, and internal teams
  • Perform detailed data entry using Sage/AccPac (experience with other accounting software will be considered)
  • Maintain accurate financial records including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries
  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial documents
  • Process invoices, payments, and expense reports in a timely manner
  • Monitor and prepare cash flow statements
  • Prepare financial reports such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
  • Manage collections for customer accounts
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting
  • Resolve vendor and customer account discrepancies
  • Prepare and submit quarterly and annual tax filings
  • Process e-commerce orders
  • Prepare incoming cheques for deposit and process authorized credit card payments
  • Issue cheques to vendors according to payment terms
  • Maintain filing systems for financial documents
  • Provide general administrative support as needed

Qualifications

  • Bilingual (English & French)
  • Previous accounting/bookkeeping experience in Canada
  • Proficiency in Sage/AccPac or other accounting software
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Excellent math, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • High standards of ethics, confidentiality, and professionalism
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive attitude and ability to overcome challenges
