Express Employment Professionals – Guelph is recruiting a CNC Machine Operator on behalf of a reputable, family-run company with strong growth potential. This is a day shift role with full training provided, where you will work closely with a senior operator to gain hands-on experience operating CNC equipment used for cutting and machining laminate materials. As your skills develop, you may also have the opportunity to operate and assist with other production equipment, including CNC-controlled presses, slitters, rewinds, and similar machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and assist with CNC machines used for laminate material cutting and machining
- Work with laminate products, including cutting, shaping, and handling materials to specification
- Load, position, and secure materials on machines
- Perform basic machine setup, material preparation, and program selection
- Operate or assist with other production equipment such as CNC presses, slitters, rewinds, and related machinery as required
- Use measurement tools (rulers, calipers, micrometers, tape measures) to ensure accuracy
- Follow quality control processes and perform regular inspections
- Handle general material movement, including lifting up to 40 lbs
- Work on your feet in a fast-paced environment with bending, twisting, and repetitive motion
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of machine operation or CNC experience
- Experience working with laminate materials is a strong asset
- Experience operating other manufacturing equipment, such as presses, slitters, rewinds, or similar production machinery, is considered an asset
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and machinery
- Basic understanding of CNC operation and controls
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes
- Reliable, safety-focused, and a team player
