Senior Assurance Manager, Accounting and Assurance – On-Site, Full Time

St. Catherines, ON | Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm

Express Employment Professionals – Guelph is proud to be hiring on behalf of a well-established and reputable public accounting firm in St. Catharines for a Senior Assurance Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Public Accountant to take on a leadership role within a collaborative and growth-oriented environment. The successful candidate will oversee audit and assurance engagements, mentor staff, and play a key role in maintaining the firm’s high standards of client service and financial accuracy.

This position offers a competitive salary of $90,000–$120,000 per year, plus bonus and overtime pay, and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life insurance, RRSP matching, and paid vacation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead audit and assurance engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring all work meets GAAP and CAS standards.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff, reviewing their work and providing ongoing feedback and training.
  • Manage compilation and review engagements, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with professional standards.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 3–4 years of experience in public accounting (preferred).
  • Experience preparing and reviewing NTRs, reviews, and audits.
  • Previous experience leading or supervising audit engagements.
  • CPA designation (preferred) or currently working toward CPA completion.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of ASPE, IFRS, GAAP, and CAS.
  • Proficiency with CaseWare, QuickBooks, Excel, and other accounting/audit software.
  • Advanced analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
  • Natural leadership and team mentorship ability.
  • Client-focused, collaborative approach with high professional integrity.
  • Critical thinker with sound judgment and initiative.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, professional office environment and managing multiple priorities
