Shift: Monday to Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Pay Rate: $28.00 – $32.00 per hour
About the Role
Express Employment Guelph is currently recruiting a Mechanical Assembler for a well-established industrial manufacturer in Guelph. This is an evaluation hire role, offering a strong opportunity to transition into a permanent position for the right candidate.
The Mechanical Assembler will be responsible for assembling, fitting, and installing prefabricated components to build sub-assemblies for industrial machinery. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in precision, quality workmanship, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble mechanical components and sub-assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications
- Ensure accuracy of bills of material during assembly
- Perform visual and functional inspections before and after assembly to confirm conformance to drawings, specifications, and appearance standards
- Conduct mechanical adjustments as required
- Safely assemble bearings and larger/heavy equipment components
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all health and safety policies and procedures
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Manager
Requirements & Qualifications
- 2–3 years of mechanical assembly experience (preferred), ideally with larger or heavy industrial equipment
- Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
- Experience with bearing assembly
- Working knowledge of dimensional measuring tools and instruments
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Own set of basic hand tools
- Clean Driver’s Abstract
- Understanding of safe workplace practices, material handling, PPE, and machinery operation
- Forklift and crane operation experience considered a strong asset
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on delivering a high-quality product
