Production Worker – Evaluation Hire
Location: Guelph, ON
Shift: Monday to Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Job Type: Evaluation Hire (Opportunity for Permanent Placement)
Pay Rate: $22.00 – $25.00 per hour
About the Role
We are currently hiring a Production Worker for a busy and growing manufacturing facility in Guelph. This is an evaluation hire position, offering the opportunity to become a permanent team member based on performance and reliability.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in organization and safety, and is comfortable working in a shop environment supporting fabrication, shipping, and material handling.
Key Responsibilities
- Construct wooden crates and pallets for outbound shipping of components
- Load and unload trucks using material-handling equipment
- Drive company pickup truck and trailer for supplier pick-ups and deliveries
- Assist with shipping and receiving as required
- Organize and prepare parts for fabrication
- Prepare steel for plasma table cutting and clean parts after cutting
- Unload raw materials from incoming trucks
- Maintain general housekeeping of shop equipment and work areas
- Follow all health and safety policies and maintain a clean, safe, orderly workspace
- Perform other general duties as assigned by the Manager
Requirements & Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Good working knowledge of health & safety practices
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Valid driver’s license with clean abstract (required)
- Experience driving a pickup truck with trailer (preferred)
- Crane operation and material handling experience considered an asset
- Valid forklift license considered an asset
