Production Worker – Contract (Potential Full-Time)
Location: Fergus, ON
Express Employment Professionals – Guelph is currently hiring a Production Worker for a growing manufacturing company in the Fergus area. This is a contract-based position with strong potential to lead to full-time employment for the right candidate.
Schedule
- Monday to Thursday
- 5:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- Enjoy long weekends every week
Daily Responsibilities
- Inspect raw materials for quality prior to commencing the production process
- Dispense production materials into appropriate containers or equipment
- Perform rolling and processing tasks to develop finished products
- Operate various production and support machines and report maintenance needs
- Participate in safety and good housekeeping programs and report issues immediately
- Ensure all products meet quality and quality-control requirements
- Assist with production paperwork, inventory tracking, and material movement
- Communicate effectively with peers and support staff to support teamwork
- Assist with equipment start-up and shutdown at the beginning and end of each shift
- Maintain proper product identification and documentation
- Report any problems to appropriate personnel
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Clean and maintain all machines and work areas
- Perform other related duties as required
Robotic Cell Responsibilities (as required)
- Monitor automation systems and report any operational issues
- Assist in checking, controlling, and diagnosing robotic cell functions
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and internal policies
- Maintain cleanliness of the production area and equipment
- Assist in optimizing production operations
- Help develop procedures and work instructions
- Perform continuous quality control at all stages of the production process
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Light lifting up to 10 lbs
- Repetitive tasks and standing for extended periods
- Associate will be required to wear a Tyvek suit due to the nature of the work
Qualifications
- Previous production or manufacturing experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
- Team-oriented with good communication skills
- Consistent, alert, and safety focused
