Material Coordinator - Evaluation Hire
Location: Guelph, ON
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30 pm
Job Description
Express Employment Professionals Guelph is currently hiring on behalf of a local manufacturing company specializing in steel fabrication. We are seeking an experienced Material Coordinator for a fantastic evaluation hire opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Track all incoming shipments, verify packing slips against physical deliveries, and resolve any discrepancies with vendors or carriers
- Maintain the electronic inventory database to ensure real-time accuracy
- Work directly on the plant floor to perform cycle counts and "floor-to-sheet" audits, ensuring physical stock matches paperwork and system data
- Generate and analyze inventory reports, experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Business Central) is a significant asset
- Physically move and coordinate the flow of materials from the warehouse storage areas to specific machines/production lines to prevent downtime
- Use Microsoft Excel to track trends, identify slow-moving stock, and provide data-driven insights to the operations manager
Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) is required
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with plant floor staff, suppliers and production leads
- 2+ years in inventory control, warehousing, or materials handling
- Some Physical Requirements: Move material with dolly to machines as needed
