Construction Estimator - Full Time, Permanent
Location: Guelph, ON
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
Job Description
Express Employment Professionals Guelph is hiring on behalf of a local company in Guelph for a Construction Estimator role.
Responsibilities
- Perform project-specific quantity takeoffs for materials, labour, and equipment, and prepare cost analysis by capturing all material, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs required
- Obtain vendor, supplier, and subcontractor pricing per project specifications and generate estimates, working closely with the Senior Estimator and General Manager
- Read and interpret blueprints, maps, and drawings to support accurate estimating and project costing
- Prepare estimates of probable costs of materials, labour and equipment for construction projects based on contract bids, quotations, drawings and specifications
- Advise on tendering procedures, examine and analyze tenders
Requirements
- 3-5 Years experience coordinating commercial construction projects
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Architecture or a related field
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset
- Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines
