Location: Fergus, ON
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour (based on experience)
Travel: Must be willing to travel to Guelph when required
Job Description
Express Employment Professionals Guelph is recruiting on behalf of a local manufacturing company specializing in steel fabrication. We are seeking a CAD Drafter who is looking for long-term career potential and the opportunity to grow with a stable manufacturing company.
This role supports engineering and production teams by helping bring new products from concept through to full production while ensuring drawings, documentation, and processes support efficient manufacturing.
Responsibilities

Provide technical support to bring new products from conceptual design to full production

Create manufacturing drawings for components and assemblies

Work both independently and collaboratively with engineering, machining, and fabrication teams

Interpret customer blueprints and technical drawings
-
Develop weld fixtures and fabrication processes to support production efficiency

Modify existing models, update layout drawings, and assist with tooling or fixture design

Assist in the generation and maintenance of Bills of Materials (BOM)

Use Excel and other Microsoft Office tools for tracking, documentation, and communication with internal departments
Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

Knowledge of metal fabrication, welding, and assembly processes is considered a strong asset

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Good communication and problem-solving abilities

Proficiency with Excel, Word, and Outlook

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Creative, reliable, self-motivated, and able to follow direction
