Metal Finishing / Production Labourer
Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM | $20/hour
4–6 Week Contract to Start with Potential Extension
Express Employment Professionals is currently recruiting for a local client seeking a reliable and hardworking Metal Finishing / Production Labourer to join their team. This is a great opportunity for someone with manufacturing, metalworking, or general labour experience looking for a hands-on role in an industrial environment.
Location: Port Dover, ON
Candidates must have reliable transportation (also bus accessible) to the Client office located in Guelph. Transportation to the worksite will be provided from the office.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform metal finishing, grinding, and cutting tasks to prepare materials
- Use hand tools and grinding equipment safely and effectively
- Move, handle, and organize steel materials
- Assist with loading trucks and shipping activities
- Assemble components and complete general labour duties as required
- Complete assigned production and finishing tasks safely and efficiently
- Maintain quality standards while handling and preparing materials
- Support daily operations through assembly, material movement, and production support
Qualifications:
- Previous general labour, manufacturing, or metalworking experience preferred
- Experience with grinding, finishing, or material handling is an asset
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use hand tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures
- Reliable, dependable, and motivated
- Team-oriented with a willingness to learn and take direction
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
- Regular lifting, moving, and handling of steel materials
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment
- Must be able to wear CSA-approved steel-toe footwear
Tools & Equipment Used:
- Hand tools
- Grinding tools/equipment
- Cutting tools
- Material handling equipment (as required)
