HIRING NOW – ON-CALL SORTERS & PRESS MACHINE ASSISTANTS
Elmira, ON | In-Person
$18.00–$18.50/hour
Day Shift: 7:00 AM–4:30 PM
Afternoon Shift: 4:30 PM–3:00 AM
Hours: No guaranteed hours; assignments depend on production demand
Job Type: Temporary | On-Call | Contract
About the Opportunities
We’re hiring dependable individuals for On-Call Sorter and Press Machine Assistant positions at a busy metal manufacturing facility in Elmira, ON.
These are short-term, temporary contract opportunities, with assignments ranging from 1 day to 1+ weeks depending on production needs. These roles are ideal for candidates looking to gain manufacturing experience, as no previous manufacturing or press machine experience is required for the Press Machine Assistant position. Training will be provided.
Candidates must be dependable, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and available to work on short notice.
A reliable vehicle is required, as the facility is not accessible by public transit and shifts may start early or end late.
On-Call Sorter – Key Responsibilities
- Perform visual quality inspections of manufactured parts for defects such as rust, marks, and surface flaws
- Sort, package, and handle products accurately according to instructions
- Follow inspection criteria and direction from Quality Associates
- Repetitively lift and move items up to 50 lbs as required
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Work independently while meeting daily sorting and packaging goals
Press Machine Assistant – Key Responsibilities
- Assist with basic press machine operations in a manufacturing environment
- Load and unload materials and finished parts
- Support the machine operator with production tasks
- Perform basic quality checks on finished parts
- Follow safety procedures and production instructions
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation
- Repetitive lifting and standing throughout the shift
No previous press machine experience is required – training will be provided.
Qualifications
- MUST have a car / reliable transportation
- Able to work on-call and accept shifts on short notice
- Comfortable with repetitive lifting up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and reliability
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Able to stand for extended periods
- Previous manufacturing experience is an asset but not required for the Press Machine Assistant role
