FORKLIFT OPERATOR – CONSTRUCTION YARD
Guelph, ON | $24.00–$26.00/hour | Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Express Employment Professionals is currently recruiting for an experienced Forklift Operator to join a busy construction yard in Guelph, Ontario. This is a long-term, full-time opportunity with evaluation-to-hire potential and year-round work.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable operating a forklift but also enjoys hands-on work and having different tasks throughout the day.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Operate a counterbalance forklift approximately 50% of the time to move inventory and materials throughout the yard and warehouse
- Load, unload, move, and restack materials and equipment
- Perform general quality assurance checks and minor repairs on steel and aluminum products
- Use grinders, hammers, and rivet guns to address quality issues
- Grind concrete off formwork
- Perform light assembly, riveting, scraping, and restacking
- Complete minor repairs and maintenance-related tasks
- Assist with occasional painting and other general yard duties
- Adapt to changing duties and priorities throughout the day
What We're Looking For:
- Previous counterbalance forklift experience
- Valid third-party forklift certification required
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in a construction yard environment
- Hands-on mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform general repairs and quality-related work
- Comfortable using hand and power tools, including grinders
- Reliable and safety-conscious
- Flexible and willing to take on a variety of tasks as the day requires
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
