GENERAL LABOURER – CONSTRUCTION – $22/HR
Guelph, ON | Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
$22/hour | Evaluation-to-Hire Opportunity | Overtime After 44 Hours
Express Employment Professionals is recruiting on behalf of a local construction company for a General Labourer to join their fast-paced operation.
This is a hands-on construction support role suited to someone who enjoys working with tools, completing repairs, building and maintaining materials, and having a variety of duties throughout the day. We're looking for flexible candidates who enjoy hands-on work and are comfortable taking on different tasks as priorities change.
What You'll Do:
- Perform general labour, construction support, and maintenance duties
- Complete quality checks, repairs, and maintenance on steel and aluminum construction parts
- Perform light assembly and minor repairs
- Use hand and power tools including drills, grinders, routers, sprayers, hammers, and rivet guns
- Complete riveting and other basic repair work
- Scrape concrete from construction formwork
- Restack and organize construction materials and components
- Assist with painting and general maintenance
- Clean, inspect, and maintain construction parts and materials
- Identify parts and part numbers and complete accurate counts
- Maintain organized inventory of construction materials
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area
- Lift up to 50 lbs consistently throughout the workday
- Adapt to changing duties and priorities as required
What We're Looking For:
- Previous construction or general labour experience is an asset
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Comfortable working with drills, grinders, hammers, rivet guns, and other tools
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs regularly
- Reliable and committed to long-term employment
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
- Flexible and willing to take on a variety of construction-related tasks
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
