Location: Guelph, ON
Pay Rate: $36.00–$39.00/hour, depending on experience
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: 80 hours bi-weekly

Express Employment Professionals Guelph is recruiting for a skilled Toolmaker / Tool & Die Maker to join our client's team in Guelph.
The successful candidate will be responsible for building, repairing, modifying, and maintaining specialized tools, dies, and fixtures used in manufacturing processes. This role involves precision machining, setting up and operating conventional and CNC machine tools, interpreting technical drawings, and ensuring tooling and machined components meet strict quality specifications.
We are looking for someone with strong machining skills, attention to detail, and the ability to produce and maintain precision tooling that supports efficient and reliable production.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, repair, modify, and maintain specialized tools, dies, fixtures, and other production tooling.
- Set up and operate conventional and CNC machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
- Program CNC machine tools and operate machining equipment to fabricate precision components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Calculate dimensions, shapes, and tolerances required for machining operations.
- Position, secure, measure, and lay out metal stock or castings for machining.
- Use precision measuring instruments to verify machined parts meet required specifications.
- Inspect finished products and ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Test prototypes, production tools, and tooling components.
- Support stamping equipment and tool and die-making operations as required.
Qualifications
- Trade certificate or diploma in Machine Tool Technology, Machining, Toolmaking, or a related field.
- Experience in toolmaking, machining, or tool and die making is an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with CNC programming and conventional machining equipment.
- Knowledge of precision measurement techniques and machining tolerances.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
