About The Job:
The driver will work alone in most cases and will drive a well-maintained truck to customers' sites (primarily industrial or any organization that generates waste that must be disposed of in a legal manner).
- Prepare the waste inventory for safe transportation.
- Properly complete paperwork (Bill of Lading, Ontario Waste Manifest), labelling and quality control to identify goods loaded for transport.
- Layovers are required for most weeks. On average, 1-2 nights per week.
- Trucks are equipped with bunks to be slept in. Hotel rooms are booked for you when driving a truck without a bunk.
- Areas we service in Canada are mainly in Ontario but can occasionally go as far west as Alberta and as far east as Quebec and Nova Scotia. Some driving in the U.S required.
Shift: Monday to Friday - Day Shift (possible weekends included) - Early starts required varying between 5am-7am.
Wage: $31.00 - $34.00 per hour
Must be comfortable driving Manual and Automatic
Must have Fast Pass and Passport to Cross Border
What Are we Looking For?
- At least 1 year of A-Z driving experience.
- Bondable with valid passport and/or FAST card.
- Good verbal and written skills.
- Experience with hauling dangerous goods/hazardous loads, and operating equipment such as Vac-Tanker, Dump Trailer, B-Train, and Shell Tanker very beneficial.
- The desire to be an independent-minded worker who enjoys interacting with people and providing valuable service.
- Reasonable physical exertion is required, such as climbing in and out of trucks and pushing loaded pallet trucks short distances. However, we forbid any type of physical activity that could be deemed as risky or dangerous.
- Willing to complete drives to Pennsylvania and Detroit throughout the week
