Our client is the premier provider of material processing and environmental services to the global steel and metal industries. They have developed a range of by-products for specialized applications across industry, construction and agriculture, which utilize their expertise in mineral materials.

Job Description

Procurement Management:

  • Place orders efficiently using IProcurement and XMR (Oracle) systems.
  • Handle capital order requisitions with precision and attention to detail.

Workflow Coordination:

  • Send out workflow emails within the plant to ensure smooth operations.

Material Management:

  • Coordinate pickup of materials as necessary.
  • Eventually tag inventory items and organize them in designated locations.
  • Manage future inventory by making items inventory-ready and issuing oils/parts as required.
  • Issue fuel/oil from PM services.

Administrative Tasks:

  • Open monthly purchase orders (POs) accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Organize and file printer forms separately for various departments.
  • Create and manage work orders, ensuring completion upon job fulfillment.
  • Make necessary adjustments to purchase orders as per requirements.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Generate and review Open PO reports twice a week to monitor order status.
  • Record daily fuel sheet dips and water usage, reporting to relevant authorities.
  • Perform fuel and oil balance reconciliation and submit necessary forms by month-end.

Cost Management:

  • Verify packing slip costs against MSR costs and adjust when necessary.
  • Time and Resource Management:
  • Manage mechanic time entries accurately.
  • Update hour meters regularly to ensure accurate equipment data.
  • Run Fuel Master operations efficiently.
  • Close work orders promptly upon completion.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

  • Handle submission of SOS samples.
  • Enter downtime data for equipment maintenance.
  • Predictive maintenance (PM) planning for month.

Meeting Participation:

  • Attend planning meetings to contribute insights and updates.

3rd Party vendor/liaison

  • Regular contact with our 3rd Party vendors to ensure satisfactory performance on a day-to-day basis.
  • Routine follow-up to be sure that timely turnaround of parts is in-line with the needs of the business.
  • Develop KPI’s to evaluate our 3rd Party vendors.
  • Quarterly meetings to discuss their performance against the KPI’s.
  • Assign corrective actions to correct deficiencies.
  • Work with procurement on new vendor set-ups with the objective of successful “onboarding” of any new support.
  • Ensure safety and administrative compliance of vendors who are on-site working.

Qualifications

  • A strong organized communicator with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented as this position maintains a variety of logs and completes multiple forms for a diverse group of internal and external customers.
  • Computer savvy as a variety of custom and non-customized programs will be used on a regular basis, including but not limited to Oracle, Kronos, Uniwin, and Microsoft Office.
  • Carry out duties with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
  • 2 - 5 years administrative experience preferably in a steel mill or similar environment.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Track weight information from scale to computer system and get appropriate signatures.

  • Ensuring that incoming loads are safe and do not contain any inappropriate material.
  • Assisting with office duties, filing and paperwork as needed.
  • Weigh trucks in and out.
  • Ensuring that customers and employees conduct all business in a safe manner and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Providing general upkeep of the Maintenance office area.
  • Approaching all encounters with employees, customers and vendors in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
