POSITION SUMMARY
The Glass Shipping and Supply Coordinator will report directly to the Glass Commercial Manager and be responsible for record keeping of all shipping and receiving activities at the Waterdown facility as it relates to glass beneficiation and products, as well as legacy warehouse products. The successful candidate will be a detail oriented, organized individual with the ability to multi-task well.
The Glass Shipping and Supply Coordinator will coordinate customer orders with warehouse personnel, process all orders and paperwork for Glass North America (from Waterdown facility), arrange transportation and delivery, and monitor warehouse inventories.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate all incoming and outgoing activities of any glass supply arrangement.
- Weigh-in (scale) all incoming and outgoing freight/material deliveries.
- Understand all reporting requirements of any glass supply arrangement.
- Coordinate the examination and receipt of all incoming loads for damage and proper paperwork. Enter all pertinent details into appropriate company software systems. Note any discrepancies in the bill of lading and notify appropriate management.
- Legibly sign, date and code shipping and receiving documents. Scan and forward all receivers to Accounting department.
- Coordinate with plant management to verify all lot numbers, weights and product codes to ensure proper material is being shipped. In addition, check special instructions on the warehouse release form for color-coding, stenciling, special packaging and cage orientation.
- Have drivers sign and date bills of lading once material is checked and properly loaded on trucks. Report any discrepancies to the Quality Assurance Manager or the Production Supervisor immediately.
- Advise warehouse personnel of items needed from inventory to fill orders and any packaging requirements.
- Maintain logs of current inventory and all inventory shipped out of warehouse and consignment locations.
- Send consignment billing to customers and verify billing numbers are correct.
- Process orders using the appropriate company software systems.
- Coordinate and track all returns from customer locations.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Experience in a manufacturing environment a plus.
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving process an asset.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Computer software and logistics knowledge required.
- Dangerous Goods and WHIMIS training required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.
